Heartbreaking Plane Crash Kills Georgia Family Returning from Baseball Tournament

In a devastating incident on June 30th, the Van Epps family from Milton, Georgia, lost their lives when their small aircraft crashed in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. The family was returning home from a youth baseball tournament, a trip that ended in unimaginable tragedy.

What Happened?

The aircraft, a Piper Malibu Mirage, was piloted by Roger Beggs and departed from Oneonta Municipal Airport. Merely 12 minutes into the flight, air traffic control lost all tracking data.

Emergency responders later located the crash site near Lake Cecil Road in Masonville, New York, with wreckage spread across nearly a mile. Early reports suggest that poor weather conditions may have contributed to the crash.
